Do you have a fascination with the wonderful creatures the soar through the Heavenly sky day and night? Birds of Prey of the Southwest may be an event of interest for you and your family. This event will take place on January 16^th at 7pm at Lake Havasu City’s Aquatic Center. The Southwest Wildlife Foundation offers an interesting and educational program Free to the public called the “Birds of Prey”. During this event, Master Falconer, Martin Tyner, will teach the audience about many magnificent birds such as; Hawks, Falcons, Eagles, Vultures, and Owls. Topics that will be covered by Martin include the identification, hunting, nesting behaviors, and our shared environment. As part of the presentation, there will be a colorful PowerPoint slide show with varieties of pictures of all these beautiful birds found throughout the United States Southwestern region. As Martin Tyner teaches us all of these birds he will also be sharing fun stories along the way incorporated with his PowerPoint slides. Following the slide show, the audience will get to meet 3 of Martin’s live Birds which include “Belle the Harris Hawk, “Helen” the Peregrine Falcon, and “Scout” the Golden Eagle. The eagle will be saved for last. Following all of the demonstrations, the event will wrap up with a few more stories of wildlife rehabilitation as well as answering questions that are asked by the audience members.

This event is co-hosted by the Southwest Wildlife Foundation of Utah and Lake Havasu Water Savers. Lake Havasu City Water Conservation Specialist, Briana Morgan, will be joining us with information about the Havasu Water Savers and water-saving information and opportunities.
