Lake Havasu Citizens it is time to welcome back with open arms the Annual Havasu Balloon Festival & Fair. For the 10th time, Lake Havasu City will be the host of this wonderful North American attraction. Tourists from all around will be coming to enjoy this magical event that has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Events in North America by the American Bus Association. Let’s just say you may want to cancel your weekend plans between January 9th-January 12th as this is a must-attend event.
Run with Balloons 5K
Starting at 6:30am on Saturday January 11th near the main stage of the Festival, the Run with Balloons 5k will kick off at the Balloon Arch. Costs will be $35/person, $129/Family (2 parents and 2 children), $180/Teams of 6.
Fun Zone
It will be $70 for a 4-day pass, $30 per day pass: Children 10 and under will be able to enter the event for free. Advance ticket sales ends Wednesday January 8th
Advance Tickets will be available from 10am-4pm at the admission trailer located off of London Bridge Rd. at Windsor 4 on January 8th.

These Balloons will be soaring high above Lake Havasu City and in and around the Bridgewater Channel/London Bridge weather permitting. Make sure to have your eyes in the sky and cameras handy as this is truly breath-taking to witness. Many balloon teams like to descend and lightly graze the water in areas where no boats or non-motorized crafts are in harm’s way. Feel free to cruise the channel but please share the water with our Balloonist as they spoil us with beautiful scenery. People are also welcomed to watch the balloons lift off up close to see how the riders prepare and feel the heat coming off the burners.
Morning/Evening Ascension Locations
There will be numerous areas in which you can see ascensions of the Balloons including:
-Windsor 4
-Bridgewater Channel
-Various Parking/dirt lots around the London Bridge/City
-Golf Courses
-Schools
*Locations of Ascension depend on wind direction and conditions; launch locations will not be known until the hour of ascension.
Main Gate/Parking/Boat Parking Along the Channel
The main gate (gate 1) will be located at 171 London Bridge Road (across from the swap meet parking lot, same entrance as other Windsor 4 events such as Rokabilly, boat shows, and Bluegrass Festival).
There will be a separate gate entrance for those wishing to enter the event via boat. Boaters will park along the Bridgewater Channel and enter through the beach. Boat parking is free and unreserved.
All event parking is free other than VIP parking. There will be no traffic restrictions and the Swap Meet will occur on Sunday morning as usual. Shuttle buses will be made available for those parking off-site, locations and details will be posted as the event nears.
Available shuttles will be at:
-(Red Lot A) Pima Wash Parking Lot on Mesquite Avenue across from Fresenius Kidney Care at 2145 Mesquite Ave.
-(Blue Lot B) Mohave Community College- Lake Havasu City Campus at 1977 W. Acoma Blvd.
-(Green Lot C) Lake Havasu High School at 2675 S. Palo Verde Blvd.
-(Yellow Lot D) Dirt Lot on State Route 95 and W. Acoma Blvd. (across from Lakeview Community Church at 1680 W. Acoma)
Additionally, Express Shuttle Services will run continuously from 6am-9pm Friday-Sunday with no breaks (no set pick-up or drop-off schedules). This service will be free round trip to and from the main gate.
Parking near the event site will be free and will be along the London Bridger Road and in the London Bridge Plaza (with exception of Sunday during the Swap Meet). Vehicles left overnight will be towed. NO PARKING ALLOWED in the lots of either the English Village or the Havasu Landing Casino.
VIP parking will be available to everyone who purchases a VIP pass and is located in the parking lot of the newly built launch ramp at the south end of the State park.
Boat Launching at Windsor/Lake Havasu State Park
The main launch ramp and parking area, Lot 2, at Lake Havasu State park will be open for public boat launching/trailer parking. Lot 1(PWC ramp), overflow parking adjacent to Lot 1 and Lot 2, and the new launch ramp area adjacent to Windsor 4 is reserved for Balloon Festival parking and camping. Boat parking will only be allowed in Lot 2. Park Rangers will direct boaters accordingly.
PLEASE REMEMBER! Ballooning is fully dependent on wind conditions. The safety of the operator and crew is always of the utmost importance; balloons cannot ascend in windy conditions and morning or afternoon ascension will be cancelled if the wind picks up. Notice of cancellation will not be known until the hour of ascension as wind conditions change quickly. For updates, check the Havasu Balloon Festival’s Facebook page.
