CRACK! BANG! BOOM! Lake Havasu are you ready to light up the night? Havasu 95 Speedway in Sara Park here in Lake Havasu City will be hosting the 31st annual Western Winter Blast Pyrotechnics Show which we can promise will be hard to miss! Start every night at 7:30pm between February 13th-February 16th, Lake Havasu City’s night sky will be illuminated in bright, beautiful colors. The largest show will be Saturday evening. No one is allowed to leave the event once the show has begun. All shows are weather permitting and there will be no refunds.
With it being President’s Weekend, any visitor or citizen’s time spent would not be completely satisfied without experiencing the Western Pyrotechnic Association’s and Lake Havasu City’s breathtaking show. In honor of the 31st anniversary of Winter Blast, this event promises to bring enjoyment, and memories to all viewers as the thousands who gather will be overwhelmed with some of the biggest fireworks displays in WPA and LHC history.
To enter Sara Park: $8/vehicle/day – cash only (please bring $1 bills to speed transactions). There will be no limitations on the number of people per vehicle, trucks are allowed. Event staff will direct all traffic to the park. Parking opens at noon on Thursday and Sunday, and at 10am Friday and Saturday. There is limited handicap accessible parking that is first-come-first-serve; once full, general parking is possible as available. Spectators are welcome to bring chairs and to watch outside of their vehicles in the parking areas. RVs are not permitted into the general parking area. However, RVs are permitted at the rodeo grounds within SARA Park, but the spaces are already sold out for the 2020 show and the rodeo grounds are not currently accepting reservations.
At no additional cost, spectators are welcomed to enjoy Pyro in the Park spectator areas, which includes seating, music, alcohol, and food. Spectators are also allowed to bring their own seating into these areas. The area is elevated and provides spectators with an excellent view of the fireworks. There will be no Pyro in the Park on Thursday. Pyro in the Park will kick off Friday and begin at 3pm with Saturday and Sunday starting at noon. Along with no refunds already mentioned, there is no coolers, no alcohol, no firearms, no personal fireworks, and no pets allowed.
With all the wonderful options to choose from, we would like to mention that the best viewing of the fireworks and ground displays will occur within the Havasu 95 speedway grandstands. Spectators can purchase optional grandstand seating for an additional $8/person/day (children 6 and younger get in free with paid adult). There is accessible handicapped seating within the Havasu 95 grandstand as long as food, beverage, alcohol vendor. The grandstand will open at 3pm Thursday and noon on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There will be no refunds, no ins, and outs, no saving or reserving seats, no coolers, no pets, no firearms, no personal fireworks, and no alcohol. Blankets are allowed.
THE SHOWS ARE SCHEDULED TO START AT 7:30PM AND TYPICALLY LAST ABOUT ONE HOUR. NO ONE MAY LEAVE THE PARK ONCE THE SHOW BEGINS.
No Re-Entry: If you leave, you will be required to pay again if parking is available.
Where to enter: Enter at the main SARA Park entrance (most southern entrance near Havasu 95 speedway) off of HWY 95 Thursday-Sunday. There will be no entry from Dub Campbell Parkway/S. McCulloch Bl. At HWY 95, you must use the main entrance. Parking fills up fast, early arrival is strongly suggested. No parking along the shoulders of State Route 95.
There will also be limited parking at the BMX track, but those parking there will not be permitted to walk to the main event area at Havasu 95 Speedway or to Pyro in the Park. Parking will be $5/vehicle/day with parking starting at 4pm on Thursday-Sunday.
Broadcasting: The show will be broadcasted to the SARA Park Rodeo Grounds and BMX parking lots through KKRV FM 104.7
Please leave your pets at home and do not visit the Dog Park during these times. The pyrotechnics display is very loud and startling for their sensitive ears. Dog Park will be closed Wednesday-Monday. Alternative Dog Parks: Lion’s Dog Park (London Bridge Beach); Avalon Dog Park (1294 Avalon Ave.)
General Information and Housekeeping
Book room reservations if you are visiting from out of town for this event is always a sell-out!
-Plan for, expect, delays along State Route 95 near both of SARA Park’s entrance during all days of the event.
-Parking fills up fast and early arrival is strongly suggested. Normally the event area I full at least an hour before the event and no additional vehicles will be permitted.
-No parking along the shoulders of HWY 95, vehicles will be ticketed and/or towed.
-No consumer fireworks allowed in the park or parking lots.
-No food or coolers in the event area.
-No easy-ups or tents permitted in the parking lot areas.
-Leave car alarms OFF! The fireworks will set car alarms off all night long.
-No “exit and re-entry”
-No pets allowed
