First Day Hike of State Park 2018 (Cattail Cove State Park)

Cattail Cove State Park is situated on Highway 95 & Lake Shore Blvd., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86406.
The First Day Hikes program is a unity event involving all 50 states collaborating on a single, nationwide State Parks. The pleasant hike on Whyte’s Retreat Trail holding at Cattail Cove State Park is a fantastic way to start off the New Year with thrill and exhilaration. What is particularly thrilling about this retreat is the moderately tricky stairs with length filled with the sandy substrate to provide extreme excitement as participants hike on the beautiful terrain covering about 2 miles stretch.
Leading the hike are Park guides who will also guide you on the natural history of Cattail Cove State Park and surrounding infrastructure visible from the trail such as the pumping station on Lake Havasu, and the Park Dam to mention a few.
To enjoy the Hike it is recommended you wear comfortable shoes, get a hiking stick and a bottle of water to hydrate. The event venue is about 15 miles from south of Lake Havasu on Highway 95.
