Havasu Deuces Annual 1932 Ford Car Show
The Havasu Deuce Show in Lake Havasu City is a 3-day event that features 1932 Fords and includes cars from 1957 or earlier as well. The show will be modeled after the Northwest Deuce Days car show in Victoria, B.C. a once-every-three-years show that brings in thousands of ’32 Ford car addict. The show will be held on the grass ball fields of Rotary Park with a 40 foot x 120 foot open tent to sit and relax. The lake, the park, and the beautiful ball fields make it an ideal setting for a car show.
One thing of the show will be an original 1932 Ford Roadster owned by 87 year old Corky Schneider. As the story goes, Corky worked for the Don Blair Speed Shop in southern California and bought the car in 1948 for $25. Lake Havasu City is the de facto hot rod capital of the world. It boasts the largest collection of hot rods per capita, numerous car clubs, weekly meetups, and year-round sunshine. It’s a tight-knit community that’s extremely supportive of hot rod activities around town.
Havasu Deuces’ goal is to make their event the largest classic Fords show in the country. Creat as a 501c3 non-profit in the spring of 2015, the Havasu Deuces have selected the Lake Havasu Unified School District as the recipient of profits going towards fees for kids that couldn’t otherwise afford to take part in athletics. In fact, the Mayor officially proclaimed March 5, 2016 Havasu Deuces Day. They were compelled to help the Lake Havasu High School sports programs upon learning of the high fees associated with playing high school sports. In return for their support of the high school, dozens of student athletes volunteered at Deuce Night and the Havasu Deuce Show over the weekend. It was great to see both groups helping each other out, as well as the support from the other car clubs in Lake Havasu.
The 2nd Annual Havasu Deuce Show will be held March 2-4, 2017. The goal of this show is to highlight 1932 Fords. Both stock and rods are welcome. There will be special parking for the 32’s, but there is plenty of room for cars ‘57 and earlier. SO, if you don’t have a ‘32, you’re still welcome. There is some very special cars already committed coming to this show. The schedule is 2:00 p.m. Thursday March 2, 2017 Deuce Night on Main Street, Friday March 3, 2017 10:00 a.m. Garage Tour 6:00 p.m. Dinner for 2 at the Hampton Inn for the first 150 preregistered participants. Dinner will be an Italian buffet with a no host wine and beer bar available. And Saturday March 4, 2017 8:00 am to 5pm (awards 3pm) Fords will line up on the ballfields of Rotary Park for a day of fun. Havasu Deuce Show. The registration is 1932 Fords: $30 (second vehicle free), 1957 and earlier Fords: $30 (second vehicle $15) and After February 1, 2016: $40 all models (no refunds after February 1).
