Talented musicians will be celebrated at the 4th Annual Songwriters Festival. The festival will feature a diverse lineup of talented songwriters from Lake Havasu City and surrounding areas. Community children are in jeopardy of losing arts and music in schools so party with a cause knowing ALL TICKET SALES FROM THIS EVENT WILL BE DONATED TO THE K12 FOUNDATION saving Music & Arts Programs in local schools. Your entry ticket will allow you to participate in the voting of your favorite Songwriter, while Songwriters battle for your vote for the top two titles of the the competition; Lake Havasu Songwriter of the Year & Lake Havasu Song of the Year. $10,000 in cash prizes, all donated by local sponsors, will be given away. This event will include a special guest appearances from Rockstars of Tomorrow, a group of talented children who will inspire you and fill your hearts with joy. Songwriters wanted! Go to www.artslakehavasu.com to download all forms. Must be a resident of Lake Havasu City and surrounding areas (Parker, Kingman & Bullhead City). Songwriters audition held 6/1 and 6/8 at Fugs Wine Bar (location). Twenty songwriters will move to the finals where one lucky songwriter will receive the title of Lake Havasu Songwriter of the Year.
Local sponsors have donated $10,000 for cash prizes; prizes will go to the Top 6 performers + other cash prizes available.
VOTES EXPLAINED
Beginning July 13: FACEBOOK VIDEO COMPETITION
The Facebook video competition begins where people can vote for their favorite songwriters (this Facebook vote accounts for one-third of the songwriters’ overall vote). Please go to Facebook and vote for your favorite artist now!
Beginning August 15-September 16: PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD
Tickets sold will also count towards the overall songwriters’ vote. On Sept. 16, the Songwriters will battle for your vote and each entry ticket will allow you to circle your favorite songwriter’s name and deliver it to the accounting booth the night of they event. The Songwriter with the highest number of votes will receive the People Choice award which is another one-third of their overall vote.
JUDGE’S CHOICE AWARD
This competition wouldn’t be complete without the Judges Choice Award. The Lake Havasu City Songwriters will have to prove to a panel of judges that they can write a great song, which will account for the last one-third of their overall vote. That night all votes will be combined and the Lake Havasu Songwriter of the Year title will be awarded to the strongest overall contestant; putting Lake Havasu Songwriters on the map to success! This year’s Festival will be hosted by motivational speaker Dustin Runyon and the 2015 Songwriter of the Year, Billy Latta. This is the must-see event of the year!
