The 3rd Annual Anderson Toyota “Thunder On The River” Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series returns to Lake Havasu City, AZ! This action packed event will bring over one hundred boats and race teams from all over the country to Lake Havasu City to battle it out. Lake Havasu is the perfect venue for professional drag boat racing with near constant water elevation and temperatures. It is anticipated there will be some of the fastest runs ever, especially in the Top Fuel Hydro category where speeds have already surpassed the 260 mile per hour mark in as little as 3.3-seconds on a 1,000-foot race course!
Three full days of side by side racing action on the water with numerous classes competing at the highest levels. With the cold waters of the Colorado River and the dry climate of the Arizona desert, records are expected to be broken. Classes include Top Fuel Hydro, Top Alcohol Hydro, Top Alcohol flat, Pro Modified and more and race at speeds over 260 miles per hour. Unique apparel, boats and bikes on display, food, beer and fun in the sun! Every ticket is a pit pass, and kids 12 & Under are free.
FRIDAY NIGHT FANFEST: October 2 @ 6pm-9pm
Head over to the Downtown Havasu District (Main Street McCulloch Boulevard) for a meet-and-greet with the drivers and race teams. See these drag boats up close and personal. Hear the motors run and smell the top fuel burn. Boats will be on display from Smoketree Ave. to Mulberry Ave. Beer garden and vendors on-site. McCulloch Boulevard will be closed from Smoketree to Mulberry Avenues but there is plenty of free parking on Mesquite and Swanson Avenues.
DRAG BOAT RACE VIEWING
For Saturday and Sunday races, the spectator area will be located in Lake Havasu City’s Rotary Community Park, a 40-acre beach/park centrally located and easily accessible from Arizona’s State Highway 95. Recognized as a local hot spot, the park is located on the shores of Lake Havasu and offers a variety of amenities that are sure to make for a festive and exciting spring happening and a fun weekend for families and race enthusiasts of all ages. Vendors, beer garden, and other activities and displays will also be on-hand. Beach chairs and towels permitted. No coolers allowed inside of Rotary Park.

Parking to the event is at Park Avenue & Highway 95, near the Lake Havasu City Aquatic Center [map]. Entrance to the event south entrance of Rotary Park [map]. There is also available off-site parking free of charge just outside Rotary Park on city streets and empty lots. No parking allowed in Rotary Park except handicap and RV’s that pay for a spot.
