New Years Eve in Lake Havasu City, AZ – December 31st, 2012! One of the biggest parties of the year. Celebrated with formal get-togethers and family-orientated activities. New Years Eve is all about inviting the start of a NEW YEAR! One of the biggest celebrations in America is easily the “ball drop” which is held in New York City in Time Square. At 11:59 p.m. ET, a 11,875-pound, 12 foot in diameter Waterford crystal ball, which is on the roof of One Times Square is lowered down a pole that is 77 ft high, reaching the roof of the building right at midnight signaling the start of a brand NEW YEAR! This event has averaged around a million spectators yearly. The Ball Drop has been held since 1907 and still goes on today!

We in Lake Havasu City don’t need a ball drop and a million people in order to have a memorable time on NEW YEARS EVE! The 4th Annual Uptown Countdown on Main Street starts at 6:00 p.m. This event has been such a exciting time over the past few years and has had so much success they’re bring it back for a 4th year! There will be 3 stages with LIVE entertainment featuring the following bands: The All Nighterz – Garlin Hackney and the Driftbacks – Steve Muth Band – Rewind – Tim Cullen – Charles Buie.

This year they are keeping the streets open until 2:00 a.m. The event is 21 and over after 9 p.m. Street Performers will be entertaining you up and down the street all night long with Fireworks at 8 p.m. and at midnight will be the World Famous Olive Drop. All of the bars and restaurants will be open on Main St until 2:00 a.m. as well. So come on down, bring your friends and family and celebrate the coming of a NEW YEAR here in beautiful Lake Havasu City, AZ!
